ENGAGE
VCU Transform students engage in the program through coursework, community, and the co-curriculum. The co-curriculum of VCU Transform supports student growth, reflection, and connection to each other.
Transform students are required to complete at least 60 hours of co-curricular engagement by the end of their 4 semesters in the program. As a leader, each student is expected to exhibit leadership and engagement within the Transform program, the University, and the community.
The breakdown of the co-curricular requirement is as follows:
- 40 Hours: Leadership and/or Service
- Students are expected to engage in leadership and service activities, but can achieve the 40 hours in ways that align with their interests and involvements.
- 20 Hours: Transform Engagement
- Students are expected to create a sense of belonging in the Transform community by attending social and educational events with their peers, staff, and faculty.
Students have the opportunity to individualize their out of classroom experience and complete the hours requirements through engaging in events sponsored by the program.
